Observation notes

Head of the Chinese national quantum programme and the dominant figure in satellite QKD (Micius) and the Beijing–Shanghai backbone. His group (Qiang Zhang, Feihu Xu, Cheng-Zhi Peng) sets most world records in QKD distance and rate. QuantumCTek is the commercial arm of this lineage; Guo Guangcan's USTC lab is the parallel non-Pan pole.
